Ingredients
  1. Fish Fillet – 1.5 lbs
  2. Onion seeds (Kalonji)– 1 tea spoon
  3. Whole red chili – 5
  4. Turmeric powder – 1 table spoon
  5. Red chili powder – 1 tea spoon or less
  6. Oil – 2 table spoons
  7. Salt – 3 tea spoons
  8. Mustard Paste – 1 cup
Instructions
  1. Soak a cup of mustard seed in 2 cups of water overnight. Blend this mixture in a blender such a way that it becomes a smooth puree.
  2. Heat oil in a pan, add dry red chili, stir, add onion seeds. Add mustard paste and a cup of water. Add turmeric, chili powder and salt. Stir well on high heat. Mixture gets dry, so add another cup of water. Spread the fish fillet individually in the boiling gravy. Cover and keep the heat in high. After two minutes flip each fillet so that other side gets soaked in the gravy. Cook another two minutes in heat. If gravy gets dry add little water so the fillets stay half way submerged in the gravy. Cook in simmering heat for another 5 minutes. Serve with plain white or brown rice.
